The Golfblasters Swing!

This week we completed filming the introduction to the swing for non-golfers, The Golfblasters Swing. I wanted to keep it fun considering most people who will use this swing will only use it to go out once or just a few time a year. There are always company outings and with this swing one can learn to hit solid shots quite fast. Th exclusive feature of this swing that really makes it easy to strike the ball solidly is a two-palm grip. The writsts are taken out of 'that challenge' to get the club back square into the back of the ball. I refer to kroquet as one just uses one mallet in that game so why can't one just use most efficiently a Synchron ll twenty-eight degree hybrid for each hole - even for putting? The score is simply just a number on each hole without getting concerned about the standard golf numbers one the score card. The golfblasters recreation game can be played after hours with just a bit over an hour left of daylight. Most courses have twilight rates so find one that will even reduce that rate considering the time is limited. Of course, like in my case, one can become quite efficient with this one 28 degree club. I am hitting it 155-170 depending upon the fairway uphill or downhill. It takes me three shots to reach a 400 yard hole so I am now working on the same set-up for putting that I use on all shots. When I am inside 100 yards I choke down on the club to make it shorter and take the same swing. I will bend my knees more or widen my stance when I make the club shorter. I amazes me when I get an actual four on a hole because I have played the standard game for decades and missed attaining a score so low with miss-hit shots with a driver or iron. When one uses the same set up for each shot and just makes a few adjustments for distance, it is easier to repeat solid shots. So there may be a professional level eventually with the Golfblasters swing as we shall see. For those who just like to get together for some fun with friends like bowling provides, this Golfblasters swing will provide an easier swing that anyone can do and playing on a simulator may be the best platform so being together without walking the course is part of the program. Even year round this would be an enjoyable time with friends. I have friends that just go to driving ranges for relaxation so perhaps the Golfblasters swing will allow more non-golfers to just use that platform for fun with friends too. It is fun to hit solid shots in the air and aim at targets to create some fun. The backyard using practice balls can also be an ideal site for non-golfers too. This is the kroquet format if one uses hulla-hoops for targets or any other item of choice. Now here is finally a chance for those non-golfers to get proficient with the simplest of swings and go play 'their game' with friends who have the whole set plus more. Hireko Golf has Factory Direct Prices

I have been researching this swing style since 2004. It was pointed out to me at that time that the Synchron ll fairway woods could replace conventional irons up to the 8 iron. I researched further and found that Hireko Golf Components in the City of Industry, CA distributed these hybrids and many others. Not until recently did I realize that many other clubmakers knew what Hireko had available to build a quality hybrid. Now I order direct and choose the grip, shaft, shaft length - I usually go one inch or one and a half over with a stiff graphite shaft. To create speed from the shortened back swing, the graphite shaft provides a lighter weight and the XDS irons mentioned previously or the Synchron ll fairway woods seem to work best. I have people like and purchase the Adrenaline hybrids and some of the other higher lofted hybrids simply because of the factory direct cost and choice of club. Lefties can even find selections they will like. I will soon be taping a Utube piece showing how these clubs do most of the work to attain great solid shots.

Best Woods and Irons for the Drop Zone Swing

After years now of experimenting with clubs that only need to be swung from the top of the drop zone through impact with the ball, Hireko Golf has the best value. This company has two types of clubs that I have found to be easiest to use plus they can fit any budget. One can get by playing recreational fun golf with three clubs and a putter or invest more and purchase all the clubs with various lofts for different distances. I have been using one club recreationally from tee to green and putting with it too. I use the Synchron ll - 31 degree fairway wood or the 30 degree Acer XDS Cabriolet Iron. I am scoring bogey on most holes but occasionally will get a par so I chose to make par a birdie and bogey a par. That is from the far tees now also. After recently discovering the Acer XDS Cabriolet Irons I am considering using a 24 degree, 33 degree and one of the higher lofted irons. Then I may use a putter too and see what I can score having the same club off the tee plus for longer shots, a mid iron for shots in whatever distance I can hit and finally one lofted one for short shots, pitching and chipping around the green. Adding a putter will make me feel like nearly a real-time golfer. I should add the fact that I order a graphite club with a midsize Lampkin midsize grip. If you have viewed the video of this Drop Zone Swing you can see that my grip must be one that keeps the face of the club SQUARE THROUGH IMPACT WITH THE BALL. I am able to do this Best by holding the club nearly in the Palm of both hands. I also use a ten finger grip. The ball basically fires off the club face straight as an arrow if one maintains the Square through Impact position along with Not Popping out of the shot when striking the ball. I basically swing around my spine, keeping the same spine angle while swinging plus keeping my rear shoulder back at impact. I am actually swinging around my spine ( which is limited with its four medical issues) and letting the club do most of the work. I also try to Not Use Any Wrist Hinge with this swing because it is just some other feature in the swing one must learn to time. Allowing the club to do the work is just easier. New Hybrids for 2011

I have discovered some new hybrids from Hireko Golf. I have ordered a 34 degree hybrid and am anxious for it to be sent. One thing I noticed when I ordered this Adreneline Hybrid is the fact that all the lofts are back ordered. Just how popular is this club I wondered immediately. The particular model I chose will have a jumbo Lamkin Crossline grip and a graphite, T-65 from System Q shaft. The feature I am really interested in testing is the design of the sole as it relates to the lip on the underside of the club. I have found over the years of testing that the lip on the underside of the club helps get the ball into the air quickly. Now add that to my shortened swing (much like the Natural Golf Swing) and you have the easiest method for hitting golf shots with a tool that will simply hammer the ball forward. Staying down on the shot through impact is all that is really necessary. The larger grip should make it easier for me to 'hang on' to the club through impact so the head of the club does Not turn over too quickly. This same motion is much more difficult with an iron plus it takes more energy to strike a ball forward with irons. With cervical neck and lower back issues I have found no strain in my back and neck using a hybrid like I have detailed. I will continue to use a wedge for the short game of pitching the ball onto the green because I have found the ball shooting off the face of the hybrids around the green is too strong and harder to control distance. I will most likely try a 55 degree Adreneline hybrid though just to verify the use of the wedge for pitching and chipping. I am also using the Golfer's Footprint to keep my swing grooved and keep the lawn safe from divots. I attached the Footprint to a large piece of hard rubber so I can use it indoors or outdoors on long grass. I do have about nine of these units for instruction as the Footprint is actually designed for all swing styles.

Now After More Research about Hybrids

I have been researching other hybrid clubs plus experimenting with various irons. One must keep in mind that the shorter back swing will most likely result in a shorter shot although using a hybrid makes up the difference. I have discovered also that using a hybrid with higher lofts from 37 degree to the 55 degree can cause some people more frustration. If lifting out of the shot just before contact is a habit off and on, then scalding the shot farther away from the target is the horendous result. One would be better off using higher lofted irons, say down to the 7 or 6 iron where that thin strike would not send the ball forward out-of-control as much. I have found having midsize or jumbo grips helps in maintaining a square club face at ball contact even with irons. As long as one sets the hands on the club properly and gets them back to the same address position at contact, the ball will move forward on a straight path. Again, to repeat myself from a previous blog, no body rotation results in better contact for the average recreational golfer. This swing very closely resembles the Natural Golf swing of Moe Norman one can view on their website except for the 'holding on' position through impact with the ball. I intend on checking into the Natural Golf swing to see if I can schedule a comparison demonstration to what the Natural Swing is today in 2011.

Simple Club Construction with Hybrids

One feature of the hybrids that makes decisions easier especially with the hockey-like hybrid golf swing is the type of club to purchase. A shaft that has just a bit of flex works great. Someone ordering a S or Stiff shaft would have to have a very pronounced swing speed. For most everyone a R Regular shaft at the highest level will function fine. There are various levels of R and S shafts so the level of R just before the first Stiff shaft on the standard scales is what I would recommend. The goal of the swing is to get the club face onto the ball square during the swing and holding it there past the ball for a few inches. One does not want the club head rotating around with the hockey-like hybrid swing. Look again at my impact position and you will see I purposely keep the club head square through impact so the ball flies straight. Lately I have been using a variety of hybrids and they all work about the same. The key in striking shots solidly is the hitting down on the ball, leaving just a minor divot. Trying to sweep the ball off the ground usually results in a weaker shot that won't travel as far, plus there is the chance of topping it slightly. I have seen top brand names for nearly $200, but the decision to go that route is surely individual.
